Robotics Minor

About the Robotics Minor

The Robotics Minor at UMass Lowell is an interdisciplinary program from the departments of Computer Science (CS), Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE), and Mechanical Engineering (ME). These three fields form the foundation of robotics.

Students from any appropriate major: including CS, ECE, and ME, are eligible to enroll in this minor. The Robotics Minor provides you with a true interdisciplinary program in robotics, while allowing you to receive an undergraduate degree in the major of your choice.

Below is a courses overview of the minor. Breakdowns for specific majors are available in the academic catalog: CS Majors, ECE Majors, ME Majors and other majors.

To enroll in the minor, fill out a Declaration of Minor form (pdf) and bring it to your department chair. You will be assigned one of the faculty in the minor as your advisor. For the latest course information please visit the UMass Lowell online Academic Catalog.

Robotics events at UMass Lowell are listed on this events calendar, including meetings for students in the minor, robotics club activities, course events, talks, and outreach activities.

Our Students

  • Seeing how quickly and aggressively UMass Lowell was pushing the co-op program was really important to me.

During his six-month co-op at iRobot, Kevin Dibble was a full-time member of the software team – and he developed an automated testing system for a universal robot controller.
