Interdisciplinary Research

Our research is distinguished by its focus on the entire autism spectrum across ability levels, across the lifespan and across socio-economic status over three prominent research tracks:

  • Culture: cultural differences in conceptualizing, diagnosing, and treating ASD; the role of language and multilingualism in ASD; the role of institutions in outcome for children with ASD; and services for under-represented populations.
  • Health: nutrition, epidemiology, treatment, pain assessment, environmental neurotoxins, and health care disparities.
  • Innovation: utilizing innovative research methods and analyses, and exploring the role of technology in education and intervention.
