Harbor Place in downtown Haverhill

UMass Lowell is now open for business in Haverhill. Located about 20 miles north of the Lowell campus on two floors in the brand-new Harbor Place development, our new Haverhill campus provides alumni from the upper Merrimack Valley, North Shore and seacoast areas an opportunity to engage and participate in events, programs, coworking space and networking.

Our Haverhill location is home to the university’s second Innovation Hub, an incubator and coworking facility supporting entrepreneurs, startup companies and small business looking for flexible, functional space and community to grow and expand their business. With a focus on technology startups, the iHub Haverhill includes a prototype and fabrication lab, office and dedicated desk space, event and conference space, meeting rooms and access to UMass Lowell research facilities, faculty resources, student interns and more. The Innovation Hub’s executive seminar rooms will host corporate training, leadership development and other programs geared toward the region’s workforce.

“UMass Lowell’s expansion into Haverhill means our network of regional alumni have even more ways to stay involved with the university including joining the Innovation Hub, mentoring emerging entrepreneurs, attending events or even taking a class,” said Steve Tello, Vice Provost for Innovation and Workforce Development. “We’re excited about the tremendous opportunity to impact this community and we invite all our regional alumni to join us in this effort. And as always, we thank you for your continued engagement and support.”

The Innovation Hub Haverhill includes private offices for two or more people or dedicated desks – perfect for a single entrepreneur looking to be part of an innovative community to grow their business. Benefits of an Innovation Hub membership include access to meeting rooms, wifi, printing, as well as programs, networking and support services.

“iHub Haverhill has provided the perfect platform to launch our startup,” said Alan Robertson, 2010 UMass Lowell graduate and cofounder of 180 South Solar. “We've been granted access to fantastic resources that have allowed us to grow while keeping our overhead lean. As an alumni of UML, it has been great to stay connected to the university.”

The Innovation Hub Haverhill hosts an Emerging Technology Speaker Series and other programs.  In January, the iHub hosted Mass Innovation Nights #106, a wildly successful product showcase for local entrepreneurs that featured 10 companies exhibiting their innovative products.  More than 185 people attended.  Events planned for the spring include an alumni reception (Save the Date: May 30), an energy conference and manufacturer’s conference, with more to be announced.  The iHub conference and meeting space is also available for companies and organizations to host their own meetings or workshops.

Our Haverhill satellite campus also includes classrooms, a student lounge area and offices for staff from our Online and Continuing Education Department. Courses offered in Haverhill include business administration, psychology, and criminal justice classes. Summer offerings in Haverhill will be published soon on the Online and Continuing Education website
