Social determinants of health; health disparities; macro-level health determinants such as the built environment, health and non-health policies, and health communications; multilevel modeling; psychosocial stress; maternal and child health in India.

Biography

Leland Ackerson is an assistant professor in the Department of Public Health. Dr. Ackerson’s research interests are in the social determinants of health, health disparities, macro-level health determinants (such as the built environment), health and non-health policies, and health communications. With the Center, he has focused on public opinion on public health policies aimed at curbing diabetes and obesity.
