Leland Ackerson is an assistant professor in the Department of Public Health. Dr. Ackerson’s research interests are in the social determinants of health, health disparities, macro-level health determinants (such as the built environment), health and non-health policies, and health communications. With the Center, he has focused on public opinion on public health policies aimed at curbing diabetes and obesity, which are met with a surprising amount of partisan and ideological resistance.
