Herpreet Thind, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Public Health in the Department of Community Health and Sustainability. She has degrees in clinical medicine and public health. Her research interest include health behavior change interventions for obesity and chronic diseases including diabetes. She has been involved in various funded research projects and currently serves as a Co-Investigator on a NIH/NCCIH funded project to examine the feasibility of yoga for adults with type 2 diabetes. Thind has received several awards/scholarships including the Graduate School Fellowship, Isaac Capilouto Scholarship, and the Student Assembly Scholarship from American Public Health Association. Thind is an inducted member of the Delta Omega National Public Health Honor Society.
