UMass Lowell Learning in Retirement Association (LIRA) Scholarship

The Learning in Retirement Association (LIRA) will present five $1,500 scholarships to current full-time undergraduates with junior or senior status enrolled during the 2018-2019 academic year who participated in community service activities, with a GPA of 3.0 or better. Financial need is not considered, however, scholarships must be applied to the Spring 2018 semester. Scholarship recipients are honored at LIRA’s annual holiday party, on December 5, 2018.

The application deadline is Friday, October 29, 2018 at 11:59 p.m.

Your signature below indicates your permission to have the completed scholarship application form, personal statement, and transcript reviewed by the LIRA Scholarship Committee. You also give permission to release such information to the donors, should you be selected as a recipient.
The following is required to be considered for this scholarship:
  • Resume
  • 1-2 Page Essay
    • Describe your community services to the University and community at large
  • Letter of recommendation
    • Have a faculty/staff member at UMass Lowell or Community Service Supervisor send a letter of recommendation along with application
    • Have them include their Name, Email and best contact information.
