Biosketch

As the Executive Director of Administrative Services & Integrated Security, Jon leads the offices of UCard, Access and Parking Services (UCAPS) which he has been with since 2009, and Transportation Services. Jon is also the principal engineer for the campus’ integrated security systems including card access, video surveillance, intrusion detection, emergency phones, external mass notification, and the public safety radio systems. Additionally, he provides oversight and direction for contracted services including the campus bookstore, vending, and laundry. 

Jon has managed several major projects including the deployment UPrint in 2011; the upgrade and overhaul of the campus’ card access system and analog surveillance system to an IP based platform in 2012; and the upgrade of the public safety P25 radio system in 2022. Jon is the recipient of the 2014 "20 under 40" award from Security Systems News which recognizes 20 individuals under the age of 40 for their contributions in the security industry. In addition, he has spoken about UMass Lowell’s innovative approach to physical security at the British Consulate, ISC West 2014, and at TechSec Solutions 2015. In 2019 Jon received a UMass Lowell Pillars of Excellence Award for Entrepreneurial Stewardship in Higher Education.

Prior to joining Administrative Services, Jon worked with the Office of Residence Life as an Assistant Director specializing in occupancy management. He graduated with a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from UMass Lowell in 2004 and 2006 respectively.
