Introduction
Welcome and thank you for your interest in the pre-doctoral psychology internship offered by University of Massachusetts, Lowell Counseling Services (UMLCS) as part of the William James College Internship Consortium in Clinical Psychology. For the 2026-2027 year, we will be offering two full-time internship opportunities to William James College doctoral students. Internships provide 2000 total hours toward licensure, 500 of which will be gained by providing clinical services.
UMLCS has been training Counseling, Psychology and Social Work graduate students for over 40 years. We are are deeply passionate about providing high-quality, comprehensive, robust and stimulating training. We are dedicated to the development of the next generation of excellent, ethical, engaged, and empowered clinicians.
UMLCS is a department within the UMass Lowell Wellness Center, grounding us in the practice of holistic care. We strive to empower students to achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals by offering a range of psychological services in an atmosphere that is safe, confidential, supportive, and healing.

Interns will receive excellent, comprehensive, and collaborative supervision and participate in seminars that focus on addressing the unique needs of our university students. UMLCS is staffed by clinicians who are passionate about working with students and providing wonderful supervision. All staff seek real connection and collaboration with pre-doctoral interns (and each other).
