The Manning School of Business Advisory Board has created the Sandra B. Richtermeyer Endowed Experiential Learning Fund in recognition of Richtermeyer’s accomplishments during her seven-year tenure as the school’s dean.
The $100,000 fund will benefit Manning School students in their pursuit of career-connected experiences, such as internships or attending conferences and case competitions.
Richtermeyer, who joined the Manning School in 2016, was recently appointed executive vice chancellor and provost for academic affairs for Rutgers University-Camden, where she will start this summer.
“It’s our great pleasure to have this enduring reminder of your great service to us, and to keep you part of the Manning School community,” Advisory Board Chair Lorna Boucher ’86 said in presenting Richtermeyer with the honor during a recent meeting at the Pulichino Tong Business Center.
This is the third endowment fund that the Manning School’s advisory board has created since 2010. The others are the Manning School of Business Advisory Board Endowed Discretionary Fund and the Kathryn M. Carter Endowed Scholarship Fund

Last year, Richtermeyer was named the inaugural Rist Family Foundation Dean of the Manning School thanks to a gift from longtime UMass Lowell philanthropist Brian Rist ’77, ’22 (H) and his wife Kim Rist ’22 (H).
“I remember this school when it was really a cool place, but nowhere near what it is today,” said Rist, who earned a bachelor’s degree in operations management. “It absolutely has everything to do with Sandy’s leadership, energy and positive way of doing things.”
John Geraci ’97, managing partner at LGA CPAs and Business Advisors, praised Richtermeyer’s impact on students.
“I see it every day in the students we bring into the firm. She’s created such an amazing legacy, and they carry it on,” he said.
In announcing her move, Provost Joe Hartman noted that Richtermeyer “has elevated the school on a national stage, grown its enrollment, engaged its alumni and launched thousands of Manning graduates into professional careers and new professional opportunities.”
“This is the best job I’ve ever had in my life,” Richtermeyer told advisory board members. “Many of you are first-generation college students like I was. And as you figure out your path in life … you all give back so much. Thank you for what you do.”
