What is your favorite book?
"'March' by Geraldine Brooks. She is my favorite author."
The historical novel retells Louisa May Alcott's "Little Women" from the perspective of Alcott's father during the Civil War. It won the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for fiction.
What are your hobbies?
"Golf and painting. I took up watercolors three years ago at the urging of Nina Coppens (the late Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences). I had never so much as picked up a crayon, but I love it. It recalibrates me."
What's your favorite food?
"Italian and soups. I love soup!"
