Admissions Event Highlights University’s Top-tier Academics, Return on Investment

LOWELL, Massachusetts – High school seniors, transfer and other prospective students interested in pursuing a UMass Lowell bachelor’s degree are encouraged to visit campus Saturday, Nov. 15 for a free Admissions Open House, where they may qualify for an application fee waiver and a $1,000 award toward tuition and fees.
Attendees planning for their future will have a chance to learn about the university’s more than 120 undergraduate programs while hearing from admissions and financial aid representatives, meeting with faculty and current students, visiting dining hubs, touring residence halls and exploring campus.
First-year and transfer students who register for and attend the event – and ultimately enroll at UMass Lowell – may qualify for a UMass Lowell Visit Award of $1,000 toward tuition and fees for the 2026-2027 academic year. Attendees who register for and attend the Admissions Open House also qualify to have their application fee waived.
“Open House attendees will discover UMass Lowell’s student body is amazing. Students are actively engaged in their learning and truly value the educational opportunities the university provides. They’re taking advantage of career-connected experiences and the robust resources that come with being part of a leading R1 research institution. The sense of pride and belonging here at UMass Lowell resonates throughout the entire campus community,” said Kerri Johnston, the university’s dean of enrollment management.
The Open House will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and attendees may customize their experience, based on the colleges they would like to visit: the College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; the Francis College of Engineering; the Kennedy College of Sciences; the Manning School of Business; and the Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences.
Individuals interested in attending are encouraged to register on the Admissions website, where they may create a personalized schedule.
For the second time in two years, The Wall Street Journal has named UMass Lowell the state’s No. 1 public university. The university has also been designated by the Journal as the No. 1 best value public university in Massachusetts and No. 1 for fostering social mobility.
This fall UMass Lowell launched a $250 million fundraising and engagement campaign, “Designing the Future,” with a goal of supporting vital facets of the university’s mission including student success through expanded scholarships.
