A Comparative Study of Markerless and Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) Motion Capture Systems for Individuals Using Personal Protective Equipment
UMass Lowell researchers are conducting research validating a new camera system in capturing human movement while wearing explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) personal protection equipment (PPE).
- The EOD PPE weighs about 65-70 lbs. including a helmet.
- The visit is about an hour.
- You will perform physical tasks such as walking, bending over the waist, cross over the hurdles, etc. with and without wearing EOD PPE. At any time during the testing, you may request a break.
- You must be 5’2” - 6’2” tall
You can take part in this study if you don’t have:
- History of neurological or cardiopulmonary problems, major neck, arm, leg or spine injuries that limit walking and carrying weight.
- Illness or any medical condition
Monetary compensation ($20) will be provided.
