Directed study offers the opportunity to engage in an independent study or research project under the supervision of a department member. Working closely with the instructor, students define and investigate a research problem in an area of special interest and present the results of their investigation through a combination of readings and papers and/or a significant research paper. "Variable credit course, student chooses appropriate amount of credits when registering."
