ETEC.4600 Power Conversion Design II (Formerly 17.460)
Id: 003466 Credits: 3-3Description
Forward converter topologies are reviewed and core selection equations are developed from magnetic fundamentals, power and winding requirements. Transformer design and winding layups are studied for their effects on eddy currents, proximity effect and AC resistance. Drive requirements and circuits are investigated for both BJTÆs and MOSFETÆs along with snubber circuits.
Course prerequisites/corequisites are determined by the faculty and approved by the curriculum committees. Students are required to fulfill these requirements prior to enrollment. For courses offered through online or GPS delivery, students are responsible for confirming with the instructor or department that all enrollment requirements have been satisfied before registering.
