Description
The internship in Business provides three academic credits that count a a Manning elective for working in a business-related position that integrates more than one business discipline with a minimum of 11 hours per week for a single semester. After developing a proposal in cooperation with their employer, students obtain the permission of the internship coordinator to enroll in the course. The approval and supervision of the internship will be led by the Assistant Dean of the Manning School of Business and potentially in collaboration with a full-time Manning faculty member. Students then perform their designated work duties during the semester and write a reflective term paper which describes their work experience and relates it to their academic work in the other courses taken at UML. Participating businesses are expecting to receive high-quality work from the students they sponsor. Students will have the opportunity to make significant contributions to Businesses' productivity through their involvement in the internship. The grading of the internship course is based upon the evaluation from the employer and course deliverable determined by the internship coordinator. Students must have completed 15 credits of 6000-courses prior to taking Graduate-level internship.
