AIDA.1001 AIDA Freshman Seminar

This seminar introduces first-year students to academic and campus life at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and to the Applied Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AIDA) major. Students explore degree requirements, curriculum pathways, and expectations for success in programming, mathematics, and AI coursework. The course highlights research opportunities, internships, ethical responsibilities in AI, and emerging career pathways in artificial intelligence and data science. By the end of the seminar, students will develop an academic plan and a preliminary professional roadmap aligned with their goals.
Course prerequisites/corequisites are determined by the faculty and approved by the curriculum committees. Students are required to fulfill these requirements prior to enrollment. For courses offered through online or GPS delivery, students are responsible for confirming with the instructor or department that all enrollment requirements have been satisfied before registering.
