FAHS.4600 Graduate School Preparation Seminar

This seminar helps FAHSS students prepare for their graduate school applications. Students will learn to structure their semesters around graduate school application cycles working within benchmark dates, they will learn how to coordinate, consult, and "manage up" with their primary research advisors form their own departments concerning the content of their materials, school lists, and effectively plan for and request letters of support from faculty, along with preparing goal-based plans and cared-based strategies for before and after the process. This career-connected one credit course meets once per week and assessments are calculated on a satisfactory basis and not qualitatively weighted and thus will not affect cumulative average. When possible, students will engage with their disciplinary cohorts around workshopping their materials. The course is part of FAHSS's Transformative Internships and Engagement (TIE) Hub.
Prerequisites
ENGL.1020 College Writing II, and FAHSS students only, and Senior standing only, or Permission of Instructor.
Course prerequisites/corequisites are determined by the faculty and approved by the curriculum committees. Students are required to fulfill these requirements prior to enrollment. For courses offered through online or GPS delivery, students are responsible for confirming with the instructor or department that all enrollment requirements have been satisfied before registering.
