EXER.1020 Exercise for Health and Wellness

This course introduces exercise science and the role of physical activity in health and wellness for students from all academic backgrounds, Students will explore how the human body responds and adapts to exercise, examine and components of physical fitness, and learn how physical activity and exercise contribute to physical and mental health across the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on understanding and applying evidence-based physical activity guidelines, evaluating exercise and health information encountered in everyday life, and developing safe, inclusive approaches to physical activity. No prior science or fitness background is required.
Prerequisites
Anti-req: EXER.1000 Introduction to Exercise Science.
