This gateway course introduces students to the scientific foundations and processional scope of Exercise Science. This course examines how physical activity affects the human body across the lifespan, with emphasis on fitness, health outcomes, human performance, and evidence-based physical activity guidelines for clients and athletes. Students are introduced to key concepts, terminology, legal and ethical considerations, career pathways and certifications in Exercise Science, and apply foundational knowledge through collaborative, real-world learning experiences.
Prerequisites
Anti-req: EXER.1020 Exercise for Health and Wellness, and Exercise Science, and Health Pathways Majors only.
