Description

Building upon the knowledge and skills developed in Teaching Social Studies I, This course provides candidates with structured field experiences through which they apply inquiry-based pedagogical strategies, content knowledge, and inclusive instructional practices in real K-12 classrooms. Students will plan, teach, and reflect of social studies lessons while differentiating instruction for multilingual learners, students with disabilities, and culturally and linguistically diverse communities. By the end of the course, students will demonstrate developing competence in inclusive social studies teaching that promotes critical inquiry, multiple perspectives, and meaningful engagement in civic life.
