Two Open Positions In Mathematical Sciences

The Mathematical Sciences Department at the University of Massachusetts Lowell invites applications for full-time tenure-track faculty positions in Statistics and Applied Mathematics at the rank of Assistant Professor to start on September 1, 2017.

Separate details on the two positions (click on the links for more):

  • Statistics
    Preference for one position will be given to statisticians with an established research record relating to statistical methods that apply to large-scale data mining, image analysis, or related fields.
  • Applied Mathematics
    Preference will be given to mathematicians with an established research record in applied mathematics with potential to contribute the work of interdisciplinary research teams.

For both positions, the successful candidate will be expected to initiate and/or participate in funded research programs, and contribute to the department's teaching mission by teaching courses in the candidate's area of specialty. Salary is competitive. Untenured tenure-track teaching load is normally 6 credits per semester.
