The international safeguards and security system is challenged by increased proliferation and terrorism threat. The Integrated Nuclear Security and Safeguards Laboratory (INSSL) aims to promote the development of research, education and training tools that support a wide range of global nuclear security and safeguards objectives.
INSSL supports undergraduate, master's and doctoral programs across disciplines at UMass Lowell, as well as tailored training programs for industry professionals.
INSSL partners with other academic research centers, government and industry representatives to support innovation in nuclear security and safeguards approaches, including the following lead partners:
