Hands-On History

Celebrate the Center's 35th anniversary year and Lowell's Bicentennial by joining us for free "Hands-On History" programs on the 2nd Saturday of each month from March - October. Drop-in between 1 - 4 p.m. to the 3rd floor of the Boott Cotton Mills Museum at 115 John Street, Lowell, MA.  Activities are available for all ages!

  • March 14 - Weaving + Engineering
  • April 11 - Weaving + Lowell's Many Cultures
  • May 9 - Weaving + Water Power (Part of Doors Open Lowell)
  • June 13 - Weaving + Working on the Line
  • July 11 - Weaving + Lowell's Many Cultures

Professional Development Opportunities for Teachers 

We are partnering with the Wade Institute for Teaching Science at Manomet for a 3-day teacher institute in mid-July. Registration is now open for "From Waterwheels to Waterways: Engineering Design and Environmental Science in the Lowell Mills."
