Join us at the Tsongas Industrial History Center and Lowell National Historical Park for a special program this summer.

Sharpen your senses and explore the urban natural world this summer!

A paved pathway leading into the distance is flanked by a metal fence. The other side is trees and the Merrimack River. The O in the text Nature Observations is a magnifying glass.

About this program:

How do you experience and observe the world around you? Notable people such as Charles Darwin, Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Aldo Leopold, Rachel Carson, and John Muir were all known for keeping journals with their discoveries about the natural world.

Follow along on a digital adventure this summer with our team of Rangers for a Nature Observations Program offered by Lowell National Historical Park in partnership with the Tsongas Industrial History Center. Each week you will learn new ways of how to explore nature in an urban area.

This 6-week program is free. Each week on Wednesday, activity prompts will be delivered to your e-mail. You can complete these activities around your home, at an urban local park, or your favorite natural area. This program is designed to spark interest in the natural world wherever you find nature! This program is for all ages and families. Limit (1) registration per household.

Optional: You can be part of a community of explorers and share/follow along with other program participants using our Padlet website. Full instructions about how to use Padlet will be provided to all registered participants.
