UMass Lowell is an official ‘Observer Organization’ to the United Nations climate negotiations and sends a delegation to the U.N. climate negotiations and conference, or ‘Conference of Parties’ (COP) to the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The 28th Conference of Parties, ‘COP28,’ will be held in November and December 2023 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. COP28 promises to be an exciting event that brings together policymakers, scientists, innovators, educators, advocates, and the media from around the world.

The Climate Change Initiative and Rist Institute for Sustainability and Energy are excited to send a small group of faculty members and students to COP28 to represent UMass Lowell at this major international conference and negotiations focused on climate action.

Please submit the COP28 application by May 12, 2023 if you would like to join our delegation.
