Many of the students at UMass Lowell who achieve the highest levels of success inside and outside of the classroom are also people who will be the first in their family to earn a four-year college degree. We are proud of that reality. It’s a testament to the ability, the perseverance and the motivation of all those first-generation students who are blazing a trail for themselves, their families and often their communities.

The Honors College and River Hawk Scholars Academy (RHSA) stand together in affirming that we will continue to work together to ensure that any students who are eligible to be in both RHSA and the Honors College are not only able to do so, but are able to do so successfully so that their requirements for both work in harmony. We are indeed thrilled to share that we are in the midst of creating new opportunities that will be unique for RHSA students in the Honors College. The bottom line is this: if you are eligible to be in both RHSA and Honors, you absolutely can and should be in both.
