Counseling Group for LGBTQ+ students is accepting new UML students

Looking for a supportive and affirming space to share about your experiences as an LGBTQ+ person? UMass Lowell Counseling Services is offering a counseling group for LGBTQ+ and questioning students. Topics may include questioning sexual orientation or gender identity, coming out or transitioning, managing interactions with unsupportive friends or family, and coping with oppression or discrimination (including navigating multiple forms of oppression such as racism, ableism etc.). The group will also provide an LGBTQ+ affirming space to address other concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship concerns. It will also provide opportunities for participants to give and receive feedback as well as try out new ways of relating to others.

Interested students should contact Dani Patrick (they/them), Counseling Clinician and LGBTQ+ Student Services Coordinator at dani_patrick@uml.edu. Visit the Counseling Services website for more information about group therapy and other services Counseling Services offers.
