It has been several years since the campus has reviewed its need for and use of on-campus storage. As part of our commitment to maximize the use of all campus spaces, the Space Committee has asked the Facilities Management planning team to conduct an assessment of campus wide storage. 

This study will help us quantify campus storage needs and make recommendations to optimize the use of the on-campus storage spaces. The facilities department will be working with each department to collect the following data:

  • Identify all spaces currently used for storage
  • Identify how frequently items in storage are accessed
  • Identify storage items no longer needed that can be discarded or recycled
  • Identify storage of files that can be digitized
  • Identify storage of large items that could be stored off-site
  • Identify opportunities to improve space utilization through the use of shelving, racks, or other storage systems
