The Provost’s Office is seeking applications for a Faculty Fellow for AI Integration in Pedagogy. The successful candidate will support and mentor faculty participants in the Summer AI Mini-Grant Program, while also providing ongoing guidance for the integration of artificial intelligence technologies into classroom instruction. This position will provide leadership, mentorship and expertise to help faculty integrate generative AI technologies into their teaching practices effectively. The one-year position carries a $3,000 stipend to cover the period from July 1, 2024 – June 31, 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and development of the AI Summer Mini-grants.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty participants, answering questions and providing guidance throughout the program.
  • Facilitate the kick-off meeting, project consultations, and periodic project meetings for participants.
  • Monitor the progress of faculty projects and offer advice and resources as needed.
  • Collaborate with the university's Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) to develop AI-related teaching resources and materials.
  • Develop and implement strategies for assessing the impact of AI integration on student learning and engagement.
  • Contribute to developing the AI website, sharing best practices, case studies, and project outcomes from the program.
  • Facilitate workshops, seminars, or symposia to disseminate the program's findings and promote AI integration across the university several times over the academic year.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AI for teaching and learning.

Qualifications:

You do not have to be an expert in AI or pedagogy, but you do have to be committed to staying current on the topic and supporting your colleagues:

  • Full-time or Senior Adjunct Faculty member with a strong record of teaching excellence and innovation.
  • Demonstrated experience or interest in integrating AI technologies into teaching and learning or a willingness to develop expertise in this area and take on a leadership role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty from diverse disciplines.
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles and best practices in teaching and learning.
