Each year, the National Student Employee of the Year Recognition Program (SEOTY) serves as a platform to acknowledge and reward the valuable contributions made by our student employees.

This year, we received 24 nominations from supervisors who highlighted students they believed deserved recognition for their exceptional job performance. These nominations were evaluated based on the NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers) Core Competencies of community service, diversity and inclusion, leadership, technology and innovation, and critical thinking.

We are immensely grateful to our three university-selected panelists, Karina Winslow of Administrative Services, Meghan Jordan of Campus Recreation, and Georgiana Panagiotakos of Brand, Communications & Creative Strategy. We extend tremendous gratitude to these judges who kindly volunteered to read through 24 exceptional nominations, and further took on the difficult task of selecting the winners.

Drum roll please ...

First Place – Anthony Terravecchia
Career & Co-op Center, Co-op Program Assistant

“Anthony has applied his critical thinking and interpersonal skills to ensure that all students felt heard and supported during their co-op search. This intentional approach to peer coaching is a testament to Anthony's exceptional leadership and abilities."

Second Place – Anthony Letourneau
University Libraries, Lydon Library Student Assistant

“Anthony is a model student employee whose professionalism and work ethic is unmatched. Anthony is no stranger to taking initiative and incorporating high-impact practices – last year he created an AutoCAD drawing of the 3rd and 4th floors of Lydon Library. This year, we have continued our projects getting the Lydon stacks in order."

Third Place – Monica Nguyen
Asian American Center for Excellence & Engagement, Office Assistant

“Monica has taken lead on several projects that have demonstrated her cultural competency with the diverse Asian American and Pacific Islander population. When curating historical figures and cultural holidays for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, she paid special attention to learn more about specific groups that are marginalized to make sure they were represented."
