The FY23 external audit was completed with no material findings. Thank you for following the T92-031 Business Travel Expense Policy Administrative Standards, UML’s IT policy , and our RIF Expenditure Guidelines before purchasing. The Controller’s Office will now approve most exceptions in the Lowell approval matrix. We need all students and employees to ensure the university remains in compliance with internal, state, federal and external audit guidelines.

The Controller’s Office is now directing all non-sponsored projects generating income (selling a product and/or providing services). Please email controller@uml.edu for guidance or the required form needed to establish an income account.

To help answer questions surrounding student reimbursements and travel expenses, the Controller’s Office developed flowcharts outlining the process and links to other helpful information. We hope you find these resources useful, however we are always here to assist with questions. Please see links below to flowcharts based on taxpayer status:

Many departments on our campus have started using Concur for business travel and expense reimbursements, bank card processing, and registering for travel. Concur will replace Finance Production (Peoplesoft) for processing reimbursements, Buyways for bank card processing, and Terra Dotta for travel registry. The campus will continue the Concur rollout between January and March. Please make sure bank card reconciliations and travel/expense reports are up-to-date as the campus migrates to using Concur. The Concur rollout website is available for important information and office hours. See other key resources below:
