The White House Initiative on Asian American, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders are visiting UMass Lowell to share federal internship and job opportunities with students of all backgrounds. Come learn more about a career in the federal government with representatives from the General Services Administration (GSA), Office of Intramural Training and Education (OITE), and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) on Friday, Dec. 15 from 4 - 5 p.m. in Moloney Hall, UCC 260, University Crossing, 220 Pawtucket St.
Panelist Bios:
Chris Kuang, U.S. Digital Corps (he/him) is co-founder and deputy director of the U.S. Digital Corps, a two-year federal government fellowship that recruits early-career technologists to contribute to high-impact efforts including in public health, cybersecurity, and streamlining government services. The Digital Corps was launched in 2021 by the Biden-Harris administration and operates out of the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). Prior to the Digital Corps, Chris co-founded and led the nonprofit Coding it Forward, which has placed hundreds of technology students in meaningful public service experiences in federal, state, and local government agencies. He graduated from Harvard College and previously worked as a Research Assistant for the Technology and Public Purpose (TAPP) Project at Harvard Kennedy School, where he co-authored a report on science and technology policy capacity in the United States Congress.
Anna Han, National Institute of Health is a Senior Advisor for Social and Behavioral Sciences at the NIH’s Office of Intramural Training and Education (OITE), her work focuses on implementing evidence-based behavioral approaches programs and policies and overseeing trainee diversity programming to enhance diversity and inclusion of the scientific workforce. She is also a co-director for the NIH Academy for Health Disparities. Prior to joining the OITE, she was a Branch Chief of Outreach and Training at NIH’s Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and also was a senior behavioral scientist and policy advisor in the Scientific Workforce Diversity Office. Before joining the NIH, Anna was a tenured Associate Professor of Psychology at St. Mary's College of Maryland. She received her doctorate from The Ohio State University, and her research areas include attitude and behavior change, diversity, implicit/explicit biases, and self-control.
