Abstract:
In addition to the noble physical appearance of gold, the significant property of gold attracts modern technology for a variety of industrial, chemical, and biological application. However, the spread of gold can have potential harm to our environment. Therefore, proper detection methods are a prerequisite for assessing adverse effects and studying beneficial biological properties of gold. Detection of gold fluorescence has become an active research area in recent years due to its many advantages over traditional analytical methods. In this proposal, one series of new fluorescent sensors for sensing gold species are described, especially for gold(I) ions, which is based on activation of the alkyne bond. Analyzing the structures, testing fluorescence characteristics, and monitoring kinetics are performed during the whole work. It also mentions the extent of future development of more possible structures this area.

All interested students and faculty members are invited to attend.
