The Office of Research Development is pleased to announce that UMass Lowell has joined the Air Force Research Laboratory Minority Leaders – Research Collaboration Program (AFRL ML-RCP). This program supports Minority Serving Institutions (MSI) and their engagement with AFRL.

Under the membership, the ML-RCP provides a community of support and best practices for institutions, including a network of faculty and AFRL researchers to support the development of proposals. The AFRL publishes research topics through a Project Opportunity Announcement (POA) and faculty respond with a white paper submission. AFRL will then invite select PIs to submit full proposals for funding. There is no limit to the number of white papers that faculty can submit.

The current call for white papers just opened with a deadline of Dec. 1, 2023. Please review the current open opportunities  that call for expertise in a range of topics and disciplines.

Participating students and faculty must be U.S. persons. Students working with faculty on funded projects may be invited to participate in summer internships as well. Please visit the ML-RCP FAQ page to learn more about the program.

Please contact RD@uml.edu for any questions related to UMass Lowell’s membership to the ML-RCP. Thank you.
