As a way of developing an active writing community at the university, the Office of the Provost and the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation will again sponsor Faculty Writing Spaces this year. This series of monthly retreats welcomes faculty from all ranks and disciplines to write together in a collegial, focused environment. Each retreat includes accountability sessions, blocks of writing time, and a lunchtime workshop on the following schedule:

9-9:15 Introductions and Goal Setting
9:15-11: 45 Focused Writing Time
11:45-noon Accountability Session
Noon-1 Workshop and Discussion
1-1:15 Goal Setting
1:15-3:45 Focused Writing Time
3:45-4 Accountability Session and Wrap Up

Participants are welcome to attend for part or all of the day, as their schedule permits. Dates and workshop topics for this year include:

9/22 Goal Setting for the Academic Year
10/27 Why Accountability Works
12/1 Show and Tell: Share Your Favorite Writing Tools
2/9 Writing With Others: Collaboration Strategies
3/22 Getting Unstuck
4/14 Your Best Summer Yet: Creating a Writing Plan That Works
