You’re invited to a retirement celebration for Associate Dean Richard Serna as he retires from the faculty and his leadership role in the College of Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.

Join us on Thursday, Oct. 5, from 4-6 p.m. at the Allen House, 2 Solomont Way. RSVP in advance is requested as space is limited.

During his tenure as Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Programs in FAHSS, Richard provided strategic leadership in research development, faculty success, research mentoring, and graduate programs within the College. Under his leadership, FAHSS research and creative activity levels reached unprecedented levels, and external funding for research doubled.

Before working in the Dean’s office, Associate Dean Serna was a Professor of Psychology at UMass Lowell, serving as interim department chair from 2017-2018 and the Graduate Coordinator of the Master of Science in Autism Studies Program for seven years. Before UMass Lowell, he held appointments at UMass Medical School and the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center.
