A new system for entering textbook adoptions at the River Hawk Shop is now available, as the university prepares for the transition of the bookstore’s management to Valore Campus in July.
We strongly encourage faculty begin working with this system, Verba Collect, as soon as possible for Fall 2023 materials. Adoptions for summer sessions should continue to be handled using the Follett Discover tool.
All faculty should receive an email from “River Hawk Shop Textbook Adoptions” guiding you to create a Verba Collect account. You may also access this tool at Verba Collect's website.
On your first visit, use the “reset my password” link and follow prompts using your UMass Lowell faculty email address. Once your password is set, use these credentials for future Verba Collect sessions. (We’re still working to integrate the tool into the university’s Single Sign On system).
Please adopt materials in the new system for each class or section you will be teaching in the fall. Unfortunately, despite our best attempts, adoptions for the fall already entered into the Follett Discover tool will need to be entered again in the new system.
If a course has no materials, or uses open educational resources, please indicate that. Verba Collect will ensure this important information is shared with the bookstore and students.
The timely adoption of course materials helps our students by ensuring the most cost-effective choices are available. Late adoptions may mean only new, and thus most costly, materials are available.
An instructional webpage is available with resources guiding you through this process.
