Abstract:
This dissertation describes the fabrication of three-dimensional, open-cell, noble-metal (Au, Ag, and Pt) electrodes that have a complex geometry (wire mesh, metallic foam). Utrasonication-assisted electroplating method has been developed and applied for the fabrication of these electrodes. To enhance the surface roughness of these electrodes, hydrogen bubbling enhancing step has been added. These electrodes have applications in the detection of redox mediators, and bacteria decontamination applications.
All interested students and faculty members are invited to attend.
