Please join us on Wednesday, April 26 from noon to 1 p.m. virtually for our next Enlightened Bites session about budgets for grant proposals.

As researchers strive to submit innovative, compelling proposals for funding, it is easy to overlook another aspect of grant applications: adequately estimating how much the project will cost. This session will show you how to complete the UML internal budget to transfer it to a sponsor-specific budget by using the SMART- Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound method. Presenters will also answer commonly asked questions regarding course buyout, fringe rates, cost share, reduced indirect rates and more. Lastly, presenters will offer tips and insight from a funding agency perspective so your budget better matches their goals and standards.

This session will be presented by Jackie Black, Executive Director of the Office of Research Administration.
