Consider joining members of the Center for Program Evaluation (CPE) in discussing different topics related to program evaluation.

We will be meeting via Zoom on April 21, 2023 from Noon to 1 p.m. If you would like to join us, please email us at cpe@uml.edu for the Zoom link.

April’s Brown Bag will be facilitated by Hilary Lustick from the School of Education.

AI and U: (How) Should we—and our Students--Use Technology like ChatGPT in Scholarship?

This Brown Bag will be an open discussion about the ethics surrounding the use of artificial intelligence applications in scholarship, higher education, and academia. Should universities accept the reality of ChatBot-type applications and figure out our responsibility to promote responsible and ethical use of it? Should we simply ban its use altogether and find ways to detect it as we do plagiarism? Here are a couple of resources to ground our discussion, but please feel free to share others!

The mission of the Center for Program Evaluation (CPE) is to conduct research on program evaluation methods as well as to offer evaluation planning, consulting, training and services for the university, regional and global community. CPE offers program evaluation services that support the university’s missions of research, teaching, and service to the community and industry for both faculty and students.
