Jason Pitarresi will be presenting on the role of cellular plasticity in driving diverse phenotypes in pancreatic cancer, from metastasis to cancer cachexia to modulation of the immune microenvironment. The talk will primarily focus on PTHrP-mediated calcium signaling as a driver of tumor cell plasticity with regard to epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT). Scheduled for Wednesday, March 1 at 3:30 p.m. in Coburn Hall, Room G30.

Jason R. Pitarresi received a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, and a postdoctoral training from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Hematology/Oncology Division and the Department of Molecular, Cell, and Cancer Biology at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School. His research focuses on tumor cell plasticity.
