Do you need help with your research papers? Do you not know where to start? Which database should you use? What is a database? Why don’t we use Wikipedia as a source? How do you do citations? Where are the books in the library? You have lots of great questions that we want to help answer.

On Mondays this semester, the librarians are hosting live streams on our YouTube channel. From noon to 1 p.m., you can join us as we cover a topic and take your questions. Our first stream is on Monday, Feb. 6. We’ll help you get started with research and introduce you to the University Library. Librarian Sara Marks will explain terminology your professors may be using and a few tools that will help you get started.

Another session will be on Feb. 13, covering nursing/health databases. Future topics will include subject portals, JSTOR, using newspapers, primary sources, ebooks, citations, engineering databases, business databases, and your questions!  You can meet some of the other librarians and see some of the hidden gems at the Center for Lowell History.

The video will be available after the stream is over. You can come back and watch any time. Join us on YouTube at noon on Monday, Feb. 6. Subscribe to our YouTube channel to see more videos and to get notified about future live streams.

You can get help any time you want from Ask A Librarian. Our Research & Learning team answers questions via email & live chat. You can even drop by the library reference desks throughout the week for one-on-one help.
