Ha Pho will be presenting:
Evaluating the Public Health Informatics and Technology Workforce Development (PHIT) Program at UMass Lowell
In September 2022, UMass Lowell’s Department of Public Health launched the PHIT Workforce Development program with $3.2 million dollar grant from the Office of the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, Department of Health and Human Services. The UMass Lowell team works with eight community health agencies and three community colleges in the Merrimack Valley region to create PHIT training programs and internship opportunities for students and public health professionals. The program team has developed an evaluation plan for the program to assess and improve its implementation and results, as well as secure commitments and supports to sustain it beyond its original project life. This presentation will provide an overview of the proposed evaluation plan and seek feedback from the Center for Program Evaluation (CPE)’s members and other attendees interested in program evaluation.
The mission of the Center for Program Evaluation (CPE) is to conduct research on program evaluation methods as well as to offer evaluation planning, consulting, training and services for the university, regional, and global community. CPE offers program evaluation services that support the University’s missions of research, teaching, and service to the community and industry.
