The Office of Research and Innovation is pleased to announce the 2023 Internal Seed Funding Program. The goal of this program is to support faculty in:
- developing multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary collaborative efforts leading to sustainable research and scholarship;
- generating preliminary results and supporting innovative ideas leading to external funding and long term success; and
- generating high quality scholarship and creative work leading to external recognition and long term success.
This year, we are pleased to increase the funding amounts available for projects. Each project may be awarded up to $15,000 for up to two years.
All UMass Lowell tenured and tenure-track faculty are eligible to apply. Priority for funding is given to new collaborations, projects that include multiple UMass Lowell faculty, projects that include more than one discipline, and projects that are likely to lead to external funding and/or recognition. UMass Lowell embraces and celebrates diversity in all its forms and encourages individuals from underrepresented populations to apply for this fund.
Proposals should be submitted using the UMass Lowell’s Research and Innovation Opportunities Portal by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2023.
The complete set of guidelines may also be found on the portal. For questions, please email VCRI@uml.edu. Thank you.
