Learn about Implementation Science and how it can be applied to close the research to practice gap related to workplace safety, health and well-being.
Evidence of the barriers and facilitators to the adoption, implementation, and long-term maintenance of Total Worker Health (TWH) programs is limited. Implementation science, the study of methods and strategies for bridging the gap between public health research and practice, can help address the system-, setting-, and worker-level factors that hinder the uptake of promising, interventions to increase the positive impact of TWH activities.
During this webinar, Rebecca Guerin, Ph.D., will share her work and provide examples and insights about opportunities for leveraging implementation science methods, models, strategies, and measures in complex and dynamic workplace settings to increase worker safety, health, and well-being.
Speaker: Rebecca J. Guerin, PhD, CHES, is Chief of the Social Science and Translation Research Branch (SSTRB), Division of Science Integration (DSI), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Dr. Guerin also leads the NIOSH Implementation (Translation) Research program and conducts implementation studies.
This webinar is part of an ongoing Total Worker Health® Trends: Expert Webinar Series sponsored by the Center for Promotion of Health in the New England Workplace (CPH-NEW) at UMass Lowell.
