Join Carol Barry, Professor and the Chair of the Department of Plastics Engineering, for a webinar, Newer Systems for Melt Compounding Polymer Systems.
When: Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022
Time: 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.
This webinar is offered by UMass Lowell in technical partnership with Plastindia International University.
Overview:
Newer Systems for Melt Compounding Polymer Systems
Although most melt compounding is still performed with co-rotating twin screw extruders, there have been improvements for the twin screw extruders and many processors are using other equipment. This webinar discusses the range of equipment available for continuous melt compounding. It also presents comparisons of a twin screw extruder with a quad screw extruder for handling several material systems.
Learning Objectives:
- Understanding what equipment is available for melt compounding
- Awareness of the advantages and limitations of this equipment
- Comparison of equipment
