UMass Lowell will host a free COVID-19 booster clinic on Friday, Sept. 30 in Atrium of University Crossing from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This new booster formulation is bivalent, meaning it protects against both the original SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, and the more-prevalent and highly contagious omicron sub-variant BA.5. Getting this new booster will activate an immune response against the original and new strains leaving you better protected against infection and severe illness from COVID-19. The Pfizer brand will be offered at this clinic.
It is recommended that you wait four months after your most recent booster if you have already had one.
This clinic is open to all university community members, and, while supplies last, those receiving their booster will receive a $25 Market Basket gift card. An insurance card is not needed, but please bring your white COVID vaccine card with you so it can be updated to reflect your latest protective jab.
Appointments are strongly encouraged and you can register online. There will also be a limited opportunity for walk-ins during the clinic hours.
Members of the UMass Lowell community are highly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to receive the COVID-19 booster to protect their health as well as their families, friends, and campus community members.
