The UMass Lowell community is saddened to share the passing of nursing student Jenna Chiavelli. Jenna’s obituary, shared by her family, is below:

Jenna Elyssa Chiavelli, age 20, of Nashua, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday morning, Aug. 23, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Nashua on June 2, 2002, she was a daughter of Mark F. Chiavelli and Maryann (Reilly) Chiavelli.

A 2020 graduate of Nashua High School South, Jenna was an accomplished athlete and an excellent student. She played on the Purple Panthers field hockey and lacrosse teams and was also on the track team.

Jenna earned her licensed nursing assistant certification and was following in her grandmother's and mother's footsteps to fulfill her dream of becoming a nurse. She was currently a nursing student at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. It was in Jenna's nature to care about everyone and everything before she worried about herself, always looking to take care of others.

In her leisure time, Jenna was drawn to anything to do with a beach or lake. She loved watching Boston sports teams, painting, and arts and crafts. Jenna loved all types of music and concerts but was particularly fond of country music.

What truly brought Jenna the most joy was spending time with her friends and family. Her friend network was like a real-life Facebook and she was loved everywhere she went. She was a social butterfly with an incredible sense of humor and a wit that was unmatched. Gracefully strong and courageous, she had an incredible smile and a contagious laugh that would light up any room, beautiful inside and out.

To say she was an amazing daughter, a loving sister, a caring granddaughter, a wonderful stepsister, niece, cousin, and a friend to all does not begin to tell Jenna's story.

She is survived by her mother, Maryann, and her husband, George Rzeznik; her father, Mark, and his wife, Diane; a sister, Nicole Chiavelli; a brother, Derek Chiavelli; two stepbrothers, Christopher and Conner; a stepsister, Rachel Rzeznik; her grandparents, Jim and Mary Chiavelli and George and Jean Reilly; her uncle, Jim and his wife, Karen; and countless cousins and family members. She was predeceased by her uncle, Kevin Reilly.

Calling hours will be held at the Farwell Funeral Home, 18 Lock St., Nashua from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30. Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 216 East Dunstable Road, Nashua at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jenna's memory to The Jenna E. Chiavelli Charitable Fund, 19 Autumn Glen Circle, Nashua, NH 03062. 100% of this fund will be donated to causes dear to Jenna's heart.
