We have successfully transitioned to “one” Blackboard and will open fall 2022 course development for faculty on Monday, July 11 for GPS and On-campus courses.
What’s new for one Blackboard?
- Faculty/staff will be able to access Blackboard using either the GPS login or the on-campus login.
- GPS and on-campus Blackboard courses from Fall 2019 to Fall 2022 will appear in one Blackboard.
What’s staying the same?
The support system you have relied on will remain the same:
- GPS: Fully online, graduate, summer and intersession courses. Phone: 800-480-3190, 24-hour assistance, Email: onlinelearning@uml.edu
- On-campus: Fall and spring undergraduate courses. Phone: 978-934-4357, 24-hour assistance, Email: bbhelp@uml.edu
What do faculty need to do?
Fall 2022 Blackboard course shells have been created empty for all classes. Faculty will need to copy content from a previous semester to begin developing.
Course development instructions:
- GPS - Instructions for online, graduate and combined grad/undergrad courses:
- Copy content (required)
- On-campus - Instructions for undergraduate courses:
- Merge/combine sections or courses (optional)
- Copy content or add a template (required)
What about?
- Non-traditional course shells (competency, dissertation, independent study, internship, and thesis courses)
- Blackboard Access for TAs, LAs, and Graders
Student access will remain the same as previous semesters, students will be provided access to fall 2022 courses on August 29 for on-campus undergraduate courses and September 1 for graduate and online courses. Please make sure you have provided a fall 2022 syllabus for your students and have hidden any materials that you may have copied from previous semesters.
GPS faculty drop-in sessions are currently available. We will be adding faculty workshops and open forums to the Center for Excellence in Learning & Teaching workshops but please feel free to reach out with any questions.
