Are you 60 or older? Do you want a chance to interact with new and innovative robots?
Researchers from the UMass Lowell Human-Robot Interaction Lab are looking into intuitive ways to control a robotic arm mounted to a mobility scooter. Participants will be asked to interact with the system. This could help to inform the future design of assistive robotics.
You may be eligible if you:
- Are 60 years of age or older
- Have the ability to use a touchscreen such as a smartphone or tablet
- Can hear and understand verbal instructions
- Can clearly see objects on a table 2 meters away
- Are able to get in and out of a mobility scooter independently
Test sessions should last about 90 minutes. The session will be conducted in the UMass Lowell NERVE Center first floor (110 Canal St.).
Monetary compensation via Amazon gift card ($35) will be provided. If needed, parking charges will also be covered.
